Recent studies have shown the head louse, commonly contagious among children, has now become immune to over the counter treatments after decades of widespread and indiscriminate use.
Doctors are now having to prescribe lice treatments to remedy the itch, which are often expensive alternatives not covered by insurance.
Lice removal has become a huge industry in the U.S. with close to 1000 companies specializing in ridding your child of scalp infestation.
