Vietnam suspends top two editors of new website Infonet.vn

Vietnam’s Ministry of Information and Communications says it has decided to temporarily suspend the two top editors of online newspaper Infonet.vn, local media reports.

In a statement, the ministry said the suspension of editor-in-chief Vo Dang Thien and deputy editor-in-chief Pham Thanh, started on Wednesday and would last for 15 days.

The ministry also said officials will review the responsibilities of the two editors for some undisclosed violations at Infonet, a news website under its purview.

No further details have been provided.

Earlier this month, the ministry suspended news website PetroTimes for three months. It also dismissed the site’s editor-in-chief Nguyen Nhu Phong had his press card revoked for violations in journalism activits.
