Australian low-cost airline Jetstar has today announced its launching direct flights between Sydney and Melbourne to Ho Chi Minh City.

Currently, Vietnam Airlines is the only nonstop carrier between Australia and Vietnam.

In a statement, Jetstar said the inaugural flights were scheduled to take off from Melbourne and Sydney to Ho Chi Minh City on May 10 and May 11 respectively.

The airline will fly direct to Ho Chi Minh City, four times weekly from Sydney and three times weekly from Melbourne.

To celebrate the launch, Jetstar is offering one-way fares for $159 in a sale that ends 11.59 AEDT tonight.
