An international manhunt has been launched for a Pakistani refugee who is suspected of having killed his German girlfriend of Vietnamese origin.

German police released the photo of 29-year-old Shahjahan Butt on Saturday after convincing a local judge to issue an international arrest warrant against the Pakistani national.

Due to the country’s strict privacy laws, the woman has only been identified as 41-year-old   “The T”.

According to local media reports, the couple’s friend discovered The T’s body on Friday afternoon and alerted the police to the flat in Dresden, in the eastern state of Saxony.

An autopsy later confirmed the deceased died of a violent death.

Authorities have not yet provided any further details on what the arrests entail or any information about the suspect.
