(Photo courtesy: Medcare Skin Centre) A skin care clinic in Ho Chi Minh city has been the talk of technology news outlets this week after it was discovered that the clinic’s logo originated from a zombie video game.
Medcare Skin Centre’s logo is identical to that of a fictitious company responsible for a zombie epidemic in the video game Resident Evil.
A journalist for technology website Mashable expressed scepticism over whether the clinic was real or a viral marketing campaign directed by the Capcom gaming company, which produces Resident Evil.
Capcom representatives have not yet made an officially comment on the clinic.
Local Vietnamese news suggests the recently opened skin care clinic is legitimate and is not aware that its chosen logo originated from a video game.

Meanwhile, Medcare Skin Centre has taken to its Facebook page to apology.
“We are very sorry the situation has occurred and is working internally to find the best solution quickly,” the skin clinic wrote in its official statement.
“Our team is highly specialised in taking care of skin conditions for our clients and logo design is completely out of our specialty and was consulted and completed for us by a hired third-party.
“We understand the urgency of the situation; and is working to quickly to provide appropriate answer to our clients, partners, community and to the movie and game producers and copyright holders of the artwork.”
