The remains of the man, believed to be Vietnamese, were found by a visitor to the Erin Square, Deer Park property on Monday afternoon around 4.30pm, sparking a homicide investigation.
According to police, neighbours in the area heard at least one gunshot last Tuesday, at about 3am.
Detective Inspector Tim Day said authorities were waiting for the full result of a post-mortem examination.
He added that investigators were still working to establish the circumstances of the man’s death and could not provide elaborate further on the situation.
The victim is believed to have been running a sewing business from his home.
