Vietnam’s major cities have flunked a global quality of life ranking.

Both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are at the lower end of the Mercer Quality of Living grade.

Out of 231 cities, the London-based human resources consultancy ranked Ho Chi Minh at number 152, while Hanoi was slightly lower at 156^th place.

The rankings measure the cities based on political, social, economic and environmental indicators and also takes into account a city’s schools, housing, and public services.

Singapore retained its title as the most livable city in Asia, ranked number 25 globally, while European cities dominated the list with Vienna in top place overall.
