(Photo: Royal Malaysia Police/ Handout via Reuters) The Vietnamese woman who smeared a deadly substance across the face of the North Korean leader’s half brother, was allegedly lured by a North Korean man, fluent in Vietnamese.
Vietnamese woman Doan Thi Huong and Indonesian woman Siti Aisyah have been charged with the murder of Kim Jong Nam.
Now it’s believed that Huong was led into the plot by 33-year-old Ri Ji Hyon, the son of a former North Korean ambassador to Hanoi.
Ji Hyon allegedly lived in Vietnam for about 10 years and worked as a trainee diplomat at the North Korean embassy in Hanoi.
South Korean news agency, Yonhap, reported that Ji Hyon used his Vietnamese language skills to lure Huong into the plot to kill Kim Jong Nam.
He is among four North Korean suspects who left Malaysia on the day Kim Jong-Nam was murdered.
It’s believed the suspects returned to Pyongyang.
Interpol has issued a red notice to track the suspects down and arrest them.
