The main rival to Uber also plans to add more than 800 jobs across six centres worldwide, over two years.
Grab currently has operations in 39 cities, with a network of more than 710,000 drivers. According to the company, its mobile app has clocked more than 36 million downloads.
The added boost of engineers from both India and Vietnam aims to help with the company’s efforts to develop local features, as it works to fend off its main competitor in the region.
