Thrill seekers at Sea World on Australia‘s Gold Coast have been given a fright on Friday when they were left stranded near the top of a rollercoaster for two hours after it broke down.

Passengers in the eight-seat carriage on the Storm Coaster ride were eventually rescued by Sea World staff, who used harnesses and accompanied them down to safety, Seven News said.

Sea World said the ride’s safety systems had engaged after a sensor fault. No injuries were reported.
