The DiCaprio foundation has announced it will return all gifts and donations from the controversial Malaysian wealth fund 1MDB, if money laundering allegations against the fund are proven.

The environmental charity started by Oscar Winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio has received some $2 million dollars in donations from 1MDB, according to the Hollywood Reporter Magazine.

The 1MDB fund is the Malaysian government’s state investment fund for economic development.

It is currently being investigated for embezzling and money laundering, after close to $1 billion dollars from the fund entered the bank account of Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak.
