Three Chinese warships along with hundreds of military personnel have arrived in central Vietnam to promote military ties between the two sides.
The Chinese naval fleet arrived in the newly opened Cam Ranh international port on Saturday as part of a five-day visit to the country.
It’s the first visit to the port in the Khanh Hoa province by Chinese ships.
The 750 service men will hold exchanges with the Vietnamese navy during their stay until Wednesday.
Last month, vessels from the United States paid a visit to the same port, almost 21 years after the two countries normalised ties.
