American artist Nick Cave on Tuesday unveiled his stable of 30 colourful, dancing horses in Sydney, ahead of his debut live art performance in Australia.

“HEARD.SYD” will feature live percussion and dancers dressed in life-sized horse suits made from coloured raffia plant fibres, inspired by Tibetan textiles and traditional African ceremonial dress.

The performances will be staged on Thursday and Saturday following installations in US cities New York, Detroit and Dallas.
