Australia’s contestant Dami Im has made it through to the final Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm, Sweden, after singing to a global audience of more than 200 million.
The 27-year-old Brisbane-based singer performed her song Sound of Silence at the Globe Arena this morning.
Of the 18 countries that competed in the semi-final, Im earned enough votes from Eurovision fans and music juries across 42 competing countries to secure one of the 10 spots in Sunday morning’s final.
She will join fellow semi-final winners from Latvia, Georgia, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Serbia, Poland, Israel, Lithuania and Belgium.
Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom and hosts Sweden were already confirmed finalists.
Im is Australia’s second participant in Eurovision after Australia was given a wildcard entry last year, with entrant Guy Sebastian coming fifth with his song Tonight Again.
