More than 100 firefighters are trying to contain a massive blaze which has consumed a car wrecking yard at Revesby in Sydney’s south-west.

The blaze, which started just before 4pm, spread an adjoining factory and gym, Fire and Rescue NSW said.

Two men have reportedly sustained serious burns to their faced in the blaze; one was also burnt on his arms. Both have been taken to the Royal North Shore Hospital in a serious condition.

The injured men are believed to be workers from the car wrecking business.

People from the area have been evacuated as fire crews continue to fight the blaze.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, but local media reported that a large explosion was heard when the fire broke out.
