Official figures show a total of 152 traffic accidents have occurred across Vietnam during the country’s four-day holiday from April 30 to May 3, leaving 111 dead and 138 injured.
According to the National Traffic Security Committee, the figures were slightly lower from the same period last year. The number of accidents was down 25.8 per cent and the number of fatal accidents and injuries down 5 and 11, respectively.
The committee said most of the collisions occurred on the streets of Vietnam, killing 108 people and injuring 137 others.
The remaining accidents occurred on railroads, killing three, and injuring one.
