A Perth child psychiatrist accused of possessing and making child pornography in Canada has been granted bail and allowed to return to Australia.

Dr Aaron Voon was arrested after allegedly filming a boy inside a public toilet at a movie theatre in Edmonton, Alberta on May 22.

The 41-year-old, who worked as a child psychologist at the Successful Development and Therapy Centre in Perth, has been charged with making child pornography, possession of child pornography and voyeurism.

He was given a bail price of $C75,000 ($A79,250) with strict conditions including that he lives at his Perth southern suburbs address; have no unsupervised contact with any person under 18 and not attend a public swimming pool.

Voon is not allowed to possess a camera, mobile phone or portable communication device capable of accessing internet or sending or receiving images.

He is due back in Edmonton for a court appearance on June 16.
