This two-and-a-half hour event was held on the 12th of March, 2016, at the Melbourne Recital Centre, Elizabeth Murdoch Hall.
With a full music band comprising of well-known musicians and singers, Hong-Anh (editor and publisher of the TiVi Tuan-san newspaper) performed a live show to thank readers for supporting his newspaper over the last 30 years.
Before he was an editor and publisher, he was also a singer and songwriter. 20 out of Hong-Anh’s 40 songs in his song-book “A Time to Remember” were showcased on the night with music ranging from Vietnamese, English, and French.
Hong-Anh has performed live at the Adelaide Festival in 1981 and in Melbourne on many occasions in the early 1980’s such as at the Moomba Festival, Multicultural Festival on Swanston Street and at primary and high school multicultural events. In the last two years, he has released four CDs and travelled to America to perform for the Vietnamese community in Orange County.
The theme of the concert was nostalgia, human plight and love songs of a former refugee on his journey to freedom through music.
