MELBOURNE – Officials say all four residents of a share house destroyed by fire in Melbourne’s north this morning have been found safe and well.

The blaze broke out at the home on the corner of Lobb and Beith streets at Brunswick about 5.30am, with 30 firefighters dispatched due to reports of people inside the home.

It took them 30 minutes to bring it under control.

Victoria Police say only two of the four people who lived at the home were inside at the time when the blaze broke out.

They escaped without injury and the fire is not being treated as suspicious, a police spokesman said in a statement.

Earlier it was reported that one person may have been missing following the fire but all four people have been accounted for.
