Truong Thi Dieu Ngoc is set to represent Vietnam in the Miss World 2016 contest after being crowned Miss Ao Dai Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City on June 7.

The 26-year-old beauty, who stands at 1.8 metres in height, is from the central coastal city of Da Nang.

As the winner, Dieu Ngoc received a prize worth VND1.1 billion, including a cash prize of VND100 million (almost $A6,000), according to SGGP.

Meanwhile, first runner-up Yen Nhi received an award worth VND530 million. She will have the chance to participate in the Miss Grand International 2016.

Second runner-up Phuong Linh also received an award and will have the opportunity to compete in the Miss International 2016 in Japan.

The Miss Ao dai Vietnam contest, also known as Miss World Vietnam, was a two-month long television reality show held by Vietnam Television (VTV) and HCMC-based BHD Company. The show featured 18 finalists from hundreds of contestants nationwide in challenges and competitions.
